Feis Cup

St Lomans Mullingar 4.16 Caulry 1.09

St Lomans progressed to the Feis Cup Final when they beat Caulry on Thursday evening last in Caulry. Four goals from Ciaran Kilmurray carved the blues path to victory with two goals in either half from the full forward.

St Lomans were guilty of some early wides but Ciaran Kilmurray got them off the mark with a fisted goal after a Ken Casey cross field pass. Casey soon withdrew with injury but his replacement Daniel Sheridan didn’t disappoint and played well upon his introduction. Caulry points from Harry Hughes and Robert Hickey cancelled out scores from the blues before a purple patch saw St Lomans register 1.04 without reply. Ronan O Toole (2) and Garrett Hickey (2) kicked points while Ciaran Kilmurray got his second goal after great build up play. Wing forward Harry Hughes reduced the margin with a goal for the home side. David Windsor got his name on the score sheet before the break as the blues lead 2.08 to 1.03 at half time.

St Lomans made an ideal start to the second half with Ronan O Toole adding to his tally while Shane Flynn set up Ciaran Kilmurray for his hat trick after a wonderful long ball pass. Robert Hickey who impressed for the home side added three points in a three minute spell. Blues Goalkeeper Stephen Gallagher denied Caulry a certain goal with a top class save.  St Lomans finished the game in clinical fashion adding a further 1.07 including a point from corner back Gerry Grehan and Kilmurray’s fourth goal set up by Daniel Sheridan. Substitute Sean Kelly made a great goal line clearance in the closing stages.
