Leinster Final

St Lomans Mullingar 2-10 Moorefield 1-14

It’s hard to put into words the feeling of devastation in the camp when the final whistle blew in O Moore Park on Sunday last. It was so close to dreams turning into reality. A late surge from a resolute Moorefield team saw them capture the Mc Cabe Cup.

On the day there were some wonderful performances throughout the St Lomans team with Ronan O Toole picking up the man of the match award. Ken Casey chipped in with 1.02 while Paul Sharry gave an exhibition in passing accuracy.

The result brings the end of the journey to an incredible year from an outstanding bunch of players. They’ve been incredible ambassadors retaining both their league and championship titles completing a five and three in a row respectively.

When the dust settles and in the days and weeks ahead we’ll look back and be both incredibly happy and proud of the achievements in 2017. So a big well done to all players and management.

Our supporters on the day turned up in huge numbers and it was great to see all the blue and white colours in the main stand. We want to see that again in the future to drive this young team on to further success in the years to come.

Lotto

There was no jackpot winner from the lotto draw on December 14th. The numbers drawn were 6,9,19,22. Winners of €50 each were Joe Dowd, Charlie Clinton, Joe Martin and Sean Quinn. The next draw takes place on January 4th 2018 with a jackpot of €1,600.

1500 Club Draw

The November 1500 Club Draw took place in the clubhouse recently. Top prize of €1,300 was won by Claire Walshe. Second prize of €400 was won by Katherine Grehan while John P Reilly, Patricia Finnerty and Paul Mc Gann won €130 each.

Regrettably this was the final 1500 club draw to take place. It was one of the best and longest running member draws in the country giving out hundreds of thousands in prize money over the years.

Many thanks to Joe Martin, Sarah Mc Cormack, Barney Reynolds, Caroline Robinson, Joe Glennon and all  their committee over the years for all their hard work and dedication running this on a monthly basis to the highest professional standard.
