Underage Academy Boys Update

Well done to St Lomans u12s who won the shield at the Cooley Kickhams Tournament on Saturday last. Starting with a one point loss against Ballyboden St Endas the boys then went on to beat the hosts Cooley Kickhams (Co Louth), Burren (Down), Slaughtneil (Derry) and Cuchualain Gaels (Louth) in the final - plenty of giants of GAA and mythology there!

On Thursday evening St Lomans U14s travelled to Caulry in the league and came away with a handsome 4.22 to 1.07 victory - scores from ten different players reflects a productive evenings work.

On Wednesday evening the U12s went Shannonside to play a fancied Athlone team. The 12 year olds fought out a 1-06 to 0-09 draw with midfielder Mark Tunney contributing four points from play. Athlone got the better of the 11-year-old game by a single score.

Golf Society

St Lomans Golf Society had their first outing of 2017 for the "The Paddy Morgan Memorial Cup" in Moate Golf club on Monday June 5th. Over 30 players turned out and with the rain staying away they enjoyed the wonderful course that Moate had to offer. The result was in doubt to the end and when Pat Donohoe birdied the eighteenth to score 41 points, it looked like his day but with Kieran Mc Gurran still on the course the prize was still up for grabs.

Kieran parred the eighteenth and also had 41points but the better back nine of a fantastic 23 collected the cup for Kieran. The prize winners were; 1st Kieran Mc Gurran 41 Points, 2nd Pat Donohoe both 41points.3rd Peter Gregg 38 points, 4th Gerry Farrell Jnr while Maurice Stenson, Pat Hughes and Davey Doolin were also in the prizes with scores of 35 points.

Lotto

There was no Jackpot winner from the Lotto Draw on June 8th. The numbers drawn were 4,11,21,26. Winners of €50 each were Alan Martin, Simon Fitzgerald, Mollie Clinton and Stephen Callaghan. Next week’s Jackpot will be €2,400
