Under 16 Boys League:

St Loman’s under 16s got 2019 underway in Lakepoint park on Monday with a 14 points to 1-9 win over Killucan in the first round of the League.

On a cold, wet night with a strong breeze blowing straight down the field it was a tough first outing for both teams and the St Loman’s lads showed no shortage of spirit to stick to the task until the final whistle.

There were lots of good performances in a tough encounter particularly in defence but Captain for the night Adam O’Connor, Mark O’Gara, Jack Geoghegan and Eoin Hogan thwarted Killucan on several occasions. Also Danny McCartan kept the scoreboard ticking at the other end.

The lads 16's continued their good start to this year’s league defeating Athlone this morning in Lakepoint Park. This was a good all round team performance with the defence all playing well as a unit. Up front everyone played their part with a special mention to Danny McCartan who contributed 2-12 to the scoreboard and Josh Folan who scored a great goal on his impressive debut. Next up is Lilliput Gaels away next weekend.

Under 13 Leinster League:

Tullamore 2-8 St Loman’s 4-12. Two wins from twp for St Loman’s in U13 Leinster League .On a wild and windy night in Tullamore, our U13 boys put in an excellent team performance to notch up their second win in the Leinster league.

With the wind on their backs in the first half The Blues built up a bit of a lead.

In the second half the Loman’s Boys hand passing game won out, and we came away with a hard fought win. It was a really good team performance but the Man of the Match award goes to JJ McNamee for his efforts.
